1932 Ford Roadster Convertible Black

Known for perfecting classic cars, Joe Stuban set out in 2005 to build another Deuce roadster. Working from a series of illustrations from the drawing board of Eric Brockmeyer, Stuban’s vision of ground hugging, great-handling roadster began to come alive in the form of a highly functional, classic car, intended to be driven.

The Ford frame was lengthened giving the car a 112” wheelbase. The Dayton triple-cross wire wheels feature Brockmeyer inspired black spokes laced between chrome hubs and rims with a 20” x 10” in the rear, and 17” x 7” in the front. A 5.7liter Hemi is custom-sculpted with a tubular intake system and advanced engine management technologies to power the classic car. The engine sends over 400 HP through a GM 4L60E transmission to an Inland Empire driveshaft.

The all steel convertible body by Deerborn Duece was lengthened to suit the chassis panel-work. Already fully functional the convertible top was reconfigured with a flush-mounted brow and repositioned center bow giving a speedier rake.

The Hues Jet Black Chroma color is by Charlie Hutton and is topped with a Chroma Premier clear coat. The interior is covered with basketball orange and black Porsche leather, accented by the dashboard and other features.  A push-button Smart Shift system by Retrotek Speed does away with conventional shifters and controls for the Air Ride system. The console door cleverly hides the Pioneer audio system, steering way from an untraditional eyesore. The details are eye-catching from any perspective and the car achieves a classic roadster look with the benefit of the most modern technology.

The classic car debuted at the 2007 SEMA show and has been admired by countless enthusiasts at numerous shows. The car has been driven only 250 miles.
Among the car’s features and awards are:
• 2008 Street Rod of the Year Finalist – Goodguys Columbus
• 2008 Fab Five Finalist – Shades of the Past
• 2008 Pro’s Pick – GoodGuys Nashville
• 2008 Pro’s Pick – Goodguys Indy

• 2008 Pro’s Pick – NHRA Louisville
• 2008 Pro’s Pick – Shades of the Past
• 2008 Street Rod Builder Magazine Feature Car – Nov. 2008
Since then the classic car has been shown and driven in the collection of a prominent Street Rod enthusiast, and the car remains in absolutely show condition in all respects. Ready to be shown and/or driven by a new owner for a fraction of the $350K build cost.
